Real Rumpl Stories: Connecting People and Place

Three shoots, three stories- each grounded in place, purpose, and the people who live adventure on their own terms. These are stories that elevate Rumpl’s message beyond product, connecting it to real lives in motion.

The first shoot follows artist and designer Nathan Hanna as he sets out on a pre-dawn strike to catch the sunrise and beat the heat for a Post Canyon shred. Nika Kermani, Bingen dance studio owner, takes a mindful coffee moment between classes at the Hatchery. And Taylor and Gretchen Hood of Axis Vehicles reflect on the deeper purpose behind their making - crafting movement-ready vans that hold space for wild places, quiet mornings, and the people they love.

My proposed creative brief outlines one sample of many, a cross-branded storytelling campaign between Rumpl and Axis Vehicles, designed to highlight authentic, human-centered narratives from real people living life off the beaten path. From craftspeople and athletes to chefs, activists, and families, the campaign focuses on those who embody Rumpl’s spirit of movement, creativity, and connection to the outdoors.

The series is envisioned as a multi-act, documentary-style campaign that follows individuals through their craft, their adventures, and their quiet, meaningful moments. While the brief follows only one sample story- Taylor and his family camping- the brief presents the broader creative direction and deliverables that would be replicated across future profiles. These include still photography, voiceover interviews, and cinematic short-form video, capturing both action and emotion.

By capturing and sharing these stories across both Rumpl’s and each collaborator’s platforms, the campaign will:

  • Deepen emotional connection between followers and the brand.

  • Grow reach by tapping into new audiences through cross-promotion.

  • Build brand authenticity and cultural relevance by celebrating real people over polished campaigns.

This is about storytelling that travels- just like Rumpl does. And this is just the first chapter.
